The TangoCommute concept was first conceived in April 2008 as a community project to generate a sensation of joy amongst commuters on their way home from work. The project had to be completed by the 7th of July, also the anniversary of the London Bombings in 2005.The first tangocommute trial took place in a Moscow underground station on the 12th of May 2008.

First ‘publicity’ shots were taken on 15th of May 2008 on London Bridge.

It turned out that TangoCommute would fall into BigDance week 2008 and the event was listed.

The event since took place in New York on the 11th of September organized by leaders in the local Tango community.

The event will next take place in Spain, March 11th. bringing a sense of compassion and connection to the 11 train stations across Madrid.
